Portsmouth's players are still waiting for their wages after the club missed a payment for the third time this season. Portsmouth is last in the Premier League and was forced to negotiate a short-term loan to overcome cash-flow problems. The club has now told the players' union the already-postponed payments should go through Wednesday. Gordon Taylor, chief executive of the Professional Footballers' Association, said he had expected the players to be paid Tuesday. He said the PFA has been told “that they are hopeful of paying them tomorrow.”
