Starting next week, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority is holding a series of awareness and educational workshops at a number of Riyadh hospitals to inform health care professionals about its work. The first workshop of the series will be held at Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Humanitarian City next Monday. The second will be held at King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital on Feb. 4. The third and fourth workshop will be held at Al-Amal Mental Health Medical Complex and the Armed Forces Hospital on Feb. 10 and Feb. 20 respectively. The workshops will involve lectures on medication – its side effects and related health problems. It will also inform medical professionals on ways to report side effects and issues related to medicine quality. Dr. Ghazi Bin Saleh Saeed, director of the program, called on hospital staff to attend and participate in these workshops. He said his organization was willing to conduct similar workshops at other hospitals if requested.
