Customs officers in Al-Haditha arrested two Saudi brothers in their twenties on Thursday attempting to sneak large quantities of petrol into Jordan to sell at the neighboring country's higher prices and who injured an official with a knife. Police in Al-Jouf said they were called to the crossing point after the car was stopped for a search during which an extra petrol tank was discovered and the vehicle was prevented from continuing on its journey. An argument broke out between the brothers and officers, with one official requiring hospital attention. “They claimed they were going to Jordan to bring medicine for their sick mother,” a police officer said of the two brothers.”
