Regional governors' offices have told government departments to ensure they inform the foreign ministry before sending any official delegations abroad. The circular sent out recently in accordance with orders from Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior instructs departments to inform the ministry well in advance so that the relevant embassies of the Kingdom can expect their arrival and carry out the correct procedures. The circular, which urged that all official meetings abroad be organized through the proper channels of coordination, comes after officials have reportedly observed in recent times numbers of Saudis taking part in events organized in other countries without the knowledge of the relevant embassies, leaving the embassies “unable to fulfill their duties in terms of providing the proper support to make the missions successful”.
