Volkswagen Middle East presented its new compact Sports Utility Vehicle, the Tiguan, in a regional launch in the magnificent landscapes of Jordan where more than 60 media from around the region discovered first-hand the capabilities and characteristics of the Tiguan. The two-liter direct injection turbocharged engine accelerates the Tiguan to 100 km/h in just 8.2 seconds. Its top speed is 200 km/h and maximum torque is 280 Newton-meter (at 1,800 rpm). On average, the Tiguan TSI with 125 kW consumes 9.1 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. The two-day event included both on-road and off-road test drives amidst some of the most spectacular scenery all whilst experiencing the car's dynamic properties, premium comfort and high level of active safety. Hans-Dieter Keller, managing director of Volkswagen Middle East, said “the Tiguan is our biggest launch for the region this year. It is the first time Volkswagen has entered the compact Sports Utility Vehicle segment which makes this a very special launch for us. So far the Tiguan has attracted an enormous amount of interest worldwide and we're confident it will generate the same in this region.”
