Saudi teacher Dhahab Mubaraki from Al-Khashel village was shocked to learn that her home, on which she had spent all her savings, had been totally ransacked by desperate infiltrators. Mubaraki had left her home in a hurry after being evacuated by Saudi forces. She did not even have time to take some of her possessions with her. A tour of the border strip by Okaz on Saturday night uncovered the extent of the destruction that was left behind by the infiltrators in the border villages of Al-Ghawiyah and Al-Khubah after they had been driven out by Saudi forces. The tour showed the degree of despair and frustration the infiltrators had reached as a result of the heavy bombardment by the Saudi armed forces. The infiltrators had clearly taken out their frustration on the homes of Saudi citizens. They had ransacked the properties, stolen electrical and electronic goods, furniture and furnishings. They had even ransacked the homes of Yemeni expatriates working in the villages. Most of the houses in the villages of Al-Bahteet and Al-Ghawiyah were almost completely destroyed due to the airstrikes by the Saudi Air Force and the nation's artillery. This was to deter the armed infiltrators, forcing them to escape to the nearby valleys and mountains. Okaz saw some of the locations where the infiltrators had holed up, including trenches and holes in the ground. These areas were hit by Saudi artillery, rockets and machine-gun fire, killing many infiltrators. Morale was high among Saudi troops, who were determined to achieve victory, and to defeat the infiltrators wherever they were.
