Qawwari held a national day ceremony at the Hilton Hotel in Jeddah to celebrate the founding of his country by Sheikh Jassim Bin Mohammad Bin Al-Thani. A ceremonial cake was cut which was followed by dinner. Saleh Abdullatif attended as a representative of the Saudi Foreign Ministry in the Makkah Region. Also in attendance were ambassadors and consuls general from GCC and Arab countries and prominent businessmen. Members of the media were invited to the celebration, such as, Waleed J.
