5,000 new foreign scholarships in 2010

The new state budget has allocated over SR35 billion to the 24 state universities across the Kingdom, said Khaled Al-Anqari, Minister of Higher Education.
The King is a sincere and ardent advocate of higher education, the minister said.
The ministry will sponsor 5,000 students to study abroad next year as part of the King Abdullah Scholarship Program, he said. The minister said that new universities would be started if the need arose. ­
