The King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue will hold a forum this week to discuss a number of pressing issues affecting Saudi society. The forum will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday in Al-Ahsa with the participation of 32 women and 31 men intellectuals. There will be five sessions on a number of subjects concerning cultural discourse, including issues on religion, education, media, citizenship and identity. Sheikh Saleh Al-Husaiyen, the President of the King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue, said the gathering aims to recognize the most important cultural elements “that enhance our cultural discourse and its influence on national, regional, Arab and international levels”. The center's secretary general, Faisal Bin Muammar, said participants were chosen from a broad range of society, including those from different literary, intellectual and cultural streams. “Cultural discourse is diverse and involves a number of other literary, social, religious, scientific and media discourses,” he said.
