The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has awarded its Distinguished Donor Award to Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Interior and Supervisor General of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Campaign for the Relief of the Palestinian People in Gaza. The award was presented by the UNRWA Commissioner-General Ms. Karen Abu Zayd on Saturday in Riyadh. Prince Naif is the first international personality to receive this award in recognition of his contribution, through Saudi relief campaigns, to help relieve the suffering of the Palestinian people and in his support of the work of the UNRWA. Speaking on the occasion, Prince Naif thanked the UNRWA Commissioner-General for her humanitarian work with the UNRWA over the past five years and for the “kind gesture,” stressing that all Saudi relief efforts have to be credited to the “tireless and constant support” from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince. Ms. Abu Zayd said Saudi Arabia has become one of the generous donors for the humanitarian aid works of the United Nations. Meanwhile, Prince Naif, acting on King's instructions, has ordered new humanitarian aid projects in Gaza worth over SR14.5 million
