The Calgary Flames beat Los Angeles 2-1 in Thursday's clash of NHL divisional leaders, costing the Kings outright leadership of the Western Conference. Miikka Kiprusoff made 34 saves for Calgary, which opened the scoring in the final second of the first period through Dion Phaneuf and went ahead 2-0 early in the third period when Nigel Dawes scored his 10th of the season. Los Angeles' Corey Elkins scored his first NHL goal midway through the third. The Kings dropped into a tie with divisional rival San Jose for the West leadership, while the Flames moved equal top of the Northwest Division with Colorado. Penguins 3, Flyers 2, SO: In Philadelphia, Pittsburgh reclaimed leadership of the Eastern Conference with a shootout win over Philadelphia. Kris Letang and Sidney Crosby scored in a shootout to give Pittsburgh its fourth straight victory. Crosby, who also scored in regulation, is 5-for-5 in shootouts this season and Pittsburgh is 5-0 in the tiebreakers. Bill Guerin also scored for the Penguins. Jeff Carter and Claude Giroux scored for Philadelphia. Sharks 4, Ducks 1: In San Jose, California, San Jose ended a five-game losing skid and reclaimed a share of the Western Conference lead by beating Anaheim. Patrick Marleau scored twice in the second period, while Joe Thornton and Devin Setoguchi also scored for the Sharks. Ryan Getzlaf had a power-play goal for Anaheim. Predators 6, Oilers 3: In Edmonton, Alberta, Patric Hornqvist scored two goals and had an assist to help Nashville stretch its unbeaten streak to six. Ryan Jones, Joel Ward, Marcel Goc and Jerred Smithson also scored for Nashville, tied with Chicago for the Central Division lead. Robert Nilsson had two power-play goals for Edmonton, and Lubomir Visnovsky also scored. Coyotes 2, Blue Jackets 1, SO: In Columbus, Ohio, Robert Lang scored the deciding shootout goal as Phoenix edged Columbus. Jason LaBarbera made 38 saves for the Coyotes, whose regulation goal came from Keith Yandle. Rick Nash countered for the Blue Jackets. Thrashers 6, Stars 5, OT: In Atlanta, Rich Peverley scored his second goal of the game early in overtime to give Atlanta a narrow win over Dallas. Ondrej Pavelec stopped 42 shots in Atlanta's first home win over Dallas. Loui Eriksson had forced overtime when he scored for Dallas with 1:12 remaining in regulation – after the Stars pulled their goalie for an extra attacker.
