The International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO) in Jeddah has allocated SR10 million to help repair the homes of flood victims. The money is also to be used to buy whatever furniture is needed. This was disclosed by Dr. Adnan Bin Khaleel Basha, Secretary General of the IIRO, during a charity evening. The event was organized by the IIRO to distribute social aid to families of orphans being sponsored by the organization and flood-hit families that have not received aid before. Basha said that the SR10 million budget can be increased, if it is needed. Sevearl sports, social personalities and businessmen attended the charity evening. In a statement, Dr. Basha said the IIRO was trying to fulfill its duty to society. He said the organization currently provides assistance to people from its strategic reserve. “We sponsor Saudi orphans and others. We strive to help these families live productive lives by encouraging them to enroll in training courses.”
