Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) launched a new package for BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) with 2000 megabyte of national traffic which can be used for email, chatting and internet browsing for only SR99. David Murphy, Mobily's chief marketing officer, said the new package was introduced to give Mobily customers wide ranged services and to enable them to communicate all day long with their friends over chat applications like (BlackBerry messenger, Windows Live messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, Google talk). Murphy added that BIS can be used to send and receive emails and it enable subscribers to access their personal and corporate emails regardless of the type of the account, and without any need for dedicated technical support. Mobily's CMO also said subscribers can install as many as 10 e-mail accounts, as well as an 11th free blackberry account, wether they are business or personal emails. To make it easy for all of Mobily customers to join BIS, an SMS activation method is available by sending “BIS” to 1100, or contacting the customer care by dialing 056-010-1100. Consequently, an SMS delivers to the user confirming the activation so he can enjoy the BlackBerry range of services starting from setting up the email account and chatting with friends and family. Mobily launched the BlackBerry devices in Saudi Arabia in 2006 to corporate segment using BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Service) and then in early 2007 BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) offered to consumer post paid segment. In June 2009, Mobily introduced BIS for its prepaid subscribers, becoming the first operator in the Kingdom to offer such service for prepaid segment.
