A Sri Lankan has been arrested accused of stabbing to death an Asian man whose body was found on Friday in the middle of a street in the Al-Salama District of Jeddah. Police cordoned off the site Friday morning and set up checkpoints in the district, while officers established that the man had fallen in the street victim to his wounds after having been stabbed in a nearby apartment. A raid on the site on Saturday led to further information on the location of the killer, and his arrest and subsequent questioning led to a confession. The accused, according to police, said that he had been at home with the victim but that an argument centering on the latter's lack of legal residence in the Kingdom led to him asking him to leave, and when he refused the killer took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed him five times in the chest.
