Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz returned home Friday after treatment in the United States and a recuperation period in the Moroccan city of Agadir. King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, led the hundreds of well-wishers as a healthy Crown Prince was accorded a royal reception here. After a brief chat, the King and the Crown Prince kissed and embraced in greetings that were aired live on state TV. “I come back to the land of the nation and God has granted me good health,” the Crown Prince said upon his return. “I feel happy and exulted and am delighted as I meet the King and the loyal Saudi people.” The Crown Prince spent just over a year in the US and Morocco for medical treatment and recuperation. He underwent surgery in New York in February this year before going to his palace in Agadir, Morocco. The Crown Prince praised the wisdom of the King as one of the most influential leaders in the world and in leading the Kingdom through this world economic crisis, in uniting Arabs and in reforming the executive agencies in the country. The Crown Prince highlighted Islam's traits calling for peace, dialogue and coexistence, boosting sciences and construction and rejecting violence, extremism and terrorism which the country fought rigorously. The Crown Prince underlined the King's wise and strict policy of confronting the deviant group including the gangs of infiltrators which tried to enter the Kingdom's southern borders but were prevented from achieving their terrorist goals. He called on the Palestinians to overcome division and called for stability in Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia and Pakistan. The Crown Prince expressed great sorrow over the tragic events suffered by Jeddah province due to the floods. He hailed the King's order to compensate victims and form a committee to investigate the causes of this disaster. The streets here were adorned with Saudi flags and pictures of the King and the Crown Prince. To celebrate the Crown Prince's return to the country, King Abdullah announced the release of a number of prisoners of public right who do not pose a threat to the public security or order. The amnesty was announced on behalf of the King by Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of the Interior. Prince Naif said the amnesty covers those with simple violations and those jailed because of financial cases in which the private right had been fulfilled. He called on those to be released to become good members of the society. Also, Prince Naif has invited citizens to attend the celebration to be held by him on Sunday to mark the Crown Prince's return, and to have dinner at the sports halls of Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Olympic Complex at 7.30 P.M. This was announced by the public relations official at the Interior Ministry Dr. Salih Bin Mohammad Al-Malik. Meanwhile, Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah Bin Muhammad, Minister of Education, has issued directives to regional education administrations to allocate Monday's first and second periods for celebrating the occasion of the return of Crown Prince Sultan. Director of Boys Education in the Eastern Province Dr. Abdulrahman Bin Ibrahim Al-Mudairis has directed all principals to organize topics on the issue and participate in the ministry's contests to mark the occasion.
