Despite a sea of hostilities facing the Ummah, there are da'ees who consider the current situation favorable to present Islam to the world. Involved in several activities in India, the da'ees who came here for this year's Haj have made it their goal to take the message of Islam to non-Muslims in the country. “Hidayah (guidance from Allah) is widespread, situation is favorable and Allah's words are coming true,” said Maulana Owais Siddiqui. Maulana Siddiqui considers da'wah (invitation to Islam) of utmost importance, as in it, he says, is the solution to several problems facing the world, including terrorism. He condemned terror acts in the name of Islam and said if somebody wants to do jihad, he should do da'wah by taking the message of Islam to those who do not know anything about Islam. He quoted a verse from Qur'an, the meaning of which translates, “Who is better in speech than the one who calls to Allah, works righteousness, and says: I am of those who bow in submission?” Speaking at a function in Jeddah Sunday evening organized by Maulana. Hifzur Rahman Seoharwi Academy, Maulana Siddiqui lamented that Muslims are yet to understand the true spirit of Islam. He was accompanied by a Hindu convert, Shakeel Ahmad (former Bhagat Singh), who in his speech said Islam is a universal religion and Muhammad (peace be upon him) is a universal Prophet, and hence “taking the message on the global level is every Muslim's duty.” The function was presided over by Ishaq Khan from Pakistan who narrated his own encounters with the people in the Western society and concluded that there was widespread misunderstanding about Islam in the West. “If Islam is presented to them, there is no reason why they will not accept it,” Khan said.
