Regional Emirs embrace Sultan's return
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 11 - 12 - 2009

The Emirs of the Kingdom's regions have said that Prince Sultan was the epitome of leadership, humanitarianism, generosity, nobleness and chivalry, as reflected by his innate goodness, skills, and his magnanimity.
At an early age, Prince Sultan won the confidence of his father late King Abdul Aziz, the Founder of the nation, and had to shoulder huge responsibilities. The beginning of Prince Sultan's highly productive and remarkable history was in the governorate, where he was well-known for his firmness to follow the correct course of action. His role, however, has never been restricted to a particular post or field of work. He has always been a source of strength for the leadership on all fronts.
The Emirs have wholeheartedly embraced Prince Sultan's return, expressing their warm feelings towards him: Deputy Emir
of Riyadh
Prince Sattam Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Emir of Riyadh, thanked Allah for granting Crown Prince Sultan good health and spoke of the joy felt by the nation and its people at his return, asking Allah that He bestow upon the country continued safety and security under the leadership of the King, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Prime Minister.
Emir of Al-Baha
Prince Muhammed Bin Saud Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of Al-Baha, described the return of the Crown Prince as a “font of joy and delight in the hearts of everyone”.
“Prince Sultan's recovery is a recovery for everyone living in this dear land, for he is known for his love, loyalty and great sacrifices for his nation and people,” said Prince Muhammed.
The Prince asked Allah to grant Prince Sultan good health to enable him to continue on his course of giving and generosity, and that security and peace continue in the land.
Emir of Eastern Province
It would take ages to talk about a person who was raised by the late King Abdul Aziz, founder of modern Saudi Arabia, said Prince Muhammad Bin Fahd, Emir of the Eastern Province, on the return of Crown Prince Sultan. He has applied the instructions and advice of his father to please Almighty Allah and gain the confidence of King Abdullah, and the love of the public, he said. “Mere words of welcome and appreciation are unable to express what we truly feel about his return home. He is the man who spent sleepless nights working on the development of this country at different levels, especially the Armed Forces that protect this blessed land from those who attempt to compromise its sovereignty,” Prince Muhammad added.

Emir of Tabuk
“The day of Crown Prince Sultan's return to his homeland marks a “felicitous day for everyone living in this pure Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” said Prince Fahd Bin Sultan, Emir of Tabuk.
“Like all the other regions of the Kingdom, we in Tabuk ask Allah to bestow on the Crown Prince good health and wellbeing and grant the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince success in work in the interests of this country and its people,” Prince Fahd said.
Emir of Qassim
In these blessed days, the Kingdom will receive a man who loves it and who is loved by the nation in return, said Prince Faisal Bin Bandar Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of Qassim, on the return of Crown Prince Sultan.
He is coming back to shoulder his responsibility as a trustful and strong aid of the King, a source of confidence and comfort, Prince Bandar said.
Almighty Allah has blessed the country with a spirit of love and harmony between the leadership and the public, with Prince Sultan crowning the values of honesty, trustworthiness, and responsibility for the service of his people, he added.
Prince Sultan's work has extended beyond his official duties to reach the needy throughout the world as seen in his charity organization, Prince Bandar said.
“The nation rejoices today as Prince Sultan returns in good health and he is well remembered for his philanthropic work and for sharing joy and sadness with his people even when he is outside the country,” he said. “Prince Sultan has always been out there for every citizen.”
Emir of Jizan
It is a day of happiness equally shared by the leadership and the public as the Kingdom receives today Crown Prince Sultan, said Prince Muhammad Bin Nasser, Emir of Jizan.
The achievements of Prince Sultan speak volumes about his distinguished character as a philanthropist whose good works are known far beyond Saudi Arabia, he said.
Jizan has been blessed with the works of Prince Sultan's Charity Organization seen in the new housing complex for the poor and a dialysis center, Prince Muhammad said.
Emir of Asir
The accomplishments of Crown Prince Sultan cannot be captured in one article or a few chapters of a book, said Prince Faisal Bin Khaled Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of the Asir Region, on the return of the Crown Prince.
Any discussion on Prince Sultan is a responsibility and a trust, and has to take into consideration his many accomplishments and great patriotism.
Prince Faisal said it would be rare to find any achievement in the country, without it having the indelible mark of Prince Sultan – whether this was in planning, guidance or execution.
When he was in charge of agriculture, dams were constructed and wells drilled. He provided loans and his ministry was regarded by his people like the rain itself.
When he became minister of transport, the arteries of roads, bridges and railways were spread all over the country, and it became easy to travel from one place to another.
When he became Minister of Defense, he boosted the ministry with modern technology and highly qualified men.
Prince Sultan provided housing to the old and the disabled and built residences for the needy, and constructed mosques for worshipers, Prince Faisal said.
Prince Sultan symbolizes the exceptional goodness of this nation and its citizens, he said. For this reason, the Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud Foundation came into being, to help people worldwide. This was an extension of the Kingdom's humanitarian approach to the nation and the world.
“Today we are celebrating the return of the Crown Prince to the homeland safely after recovery. We wish him and the nation excellent health. The Crown Prince's return reminds us of the return of the late King Khaled after treatment, accompanied by his loyal brother Prince Sultan.
In the same way, we are celebrating the return of Prince Sultan, accompanied by his loyal brother Prince Salman. It is as if history is repeating itself: saying that he who gives, wins glory, and he who plants loyalty, reaps appreciation.”
Prince Faisal prayed for Allah to protect the Crown Prince, that his return would bring happiness to his people, that Allah grants him excellent health, and that the Kingdom may have continued security and prosperity under the leadership of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
Emir of Jouf
Even though Prince Sultan was away from the Kingdom, he always wanted to know about the welfare of the country's people, said Prince Fahd Bin Badr Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of the Al-Jouf Region. Crown Prince used to follow-up and check on the needs of the sons of the nation during his successful treatment abroad.
“Every time I called the Crown Prince, his first question was on the region and its people. He would ask about their condition and issue directives to provide everything that would facilitate their welfare,” said Prince Fahd.
The Crown Prince's return to his homeland was one of the nation's most momentous and happiest occasions, he said, reflecting the love and cohesion between the wise leadership and the noble Saudi people.
Prince Fahd said no words could express the people's happiness at the return of the Crown Prince.
He said the Crown Prince was in the hearts of all citizens of the region and they have been praying to Almighty Allah to grant him excellent health.
Prince Fahd congratulated King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, and the Saudi people, on the return of the Crown Prince after treatment and recuperation abroad.
Emir of Najran
Prince Mish'al Bin Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of Najran, said the news of the Crown Prince's return after his recovery has delighted the people in the Kingdom because of the love and appreciation they have for Prince Sultan.
They are impatiently awaiting to see him home today. “We will continue to remember his dedication and services to his country in all aspects of daily life and the personal interest he has taken in the development of the armed forces,” he said.
The Crown Prince has always taken to heart the needs of Najran, Prince Mish'al said. This has been shown in Prince Sultan's developmental and residential projects for 200 needy families.
Prince Mish'al prayed to Allah to bestow good health on the Crown Prince so that he can work hand-in-hand with his brother King Abdullah for the well-being and prosperity of the country and its people.
Emir of Hail
“Joy has entered the homes of the people of the region,” said Prince Saud Bin Abdul Mohsin, the Emir of Hail of the news of the Crown Prince's return to the Kingdom. “Everyone in this country are sharing the joy at his return, and Hail and its people are undoubtedly at the front of the country's faithful sons in their loyalty to the wise leadership, and have expressed their delight at this cherished occasion by asking Allah to preserve the health and wellbeing of His Majesty and preserve our country and its leadership to serve Islam and Muslims and bring the nation to the highest level of development.”
Prince Saud, speaking on behalf of himself and the people of Hail, praised the advancements and “qualitative step forward” overseen by King Abdullah, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Prime Minister.”
“Words fail to describe the joy in all our hearts and the sincere love for the wise leadership and the Crown Prince,” Prince Saud said.
Jeddah Governor
Prince Mish'al Bin Majed Bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Jeddah, expressed great joy at the return of Crown Prince Sultan.
“It is difficult for a person to find words to express the great joy of every citizen on the safe return of the Crown Prince to the homeland after successful treatment and recuperation, thanks to Allah.”
Prince Mish'al lauded the efforts of the Crown Prince, his humanitarian work and his charitable deeds, praying to Allah to grant him excellent health, success and blessings in every step he takes to serve the nation.
Emir of the
Northern Border
Province
“Praise be to Allah for granting the Crown Prince good health and recovery,” said Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Bin Musa'ed, Emir of the Northern Border Province.
“Saudi people all over the country have been passionately following news of the Crown Prince, and have been eagerly awaiting his return so that he may continue his work among the people of the country.”
Prince Abdullah further praised Prince Sultan's contribution to the “development and modernization our country is going through in the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz”.
