ravaged Quwaizah District look like large “open markets” of furniture with people throwing away their “flood-ruined” belongings out of their house. Several residents in the area complained that the mayoralty has not responded to their repeated requests to clean the area from the unwanted eyesores. Furniture and mud have been on the streets for more than two weeks now with residents fearing outbreak of epidemics given the accumulated wastes all over the neighborhood. Residents added that it was beyond their means to clean up the mess created by the old furniture thrown away on the streets. Ramzi Al-Harbi, a resident of the area, said he had to take his son to the hospital after noticing that he was running high temperature. He suspected it was dengue fever since stagnant water in the area was definitely proving a breeding ground for the mosquitoes. Al-Harbi wondered when the mayoralty's teams have started opening the roads closed by accumulated wastes. Some residents also called for restoring power supply to the district's main road as to expedite cleaning operations.
