Christmas is just around the corner as the country starts to experiences colder days. Temperatures continued to drop in Baguio City even as state weather forecasters said colder days lie ahead for the country's summer capital. Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration forecaster Elvie Enriquez said the temperature in Baguio City dropped to 11 degrees Celcius and will continue to drop until January next year. “On Monday we recorded the coldest temperature in Baguio thus far at 11 degrees Celsius. We expect temperatures to go down further and it may reach the record low set in 1961, at 6.3 degrees,” Enriquez said in an interview. In Metro Manila, she said the coldest temperature so far this year was recorded Dec. 3 at 19.7 degrees. The lowest temperature Monday was 20.4 degrees. Enriquez said the coldest temperature in Metro Manila was recorded at 14.6 degrees in 1962. Pagasa's forecast for this week indicated temperatures at Baguio City for Tuesday would range from 11 to 22 degrees Celsius. In Metro Manila, temperatures were forecast to range between 20 and 31 degrees. Meanwhile, Pagasa said the northeast monsoon is affecting Eastern Luzon and Eastern Visayas . “Eastern Luzon and Eastern Visayas will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains. The rest of Luzon and Visayas will have partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with light rains,” it said.
