Outdoor fun for the whole family

Are you fed up of going to shopping centers and malls that all basically have the same brands, shops and restaurants? Now that the weather is getting cooler you can spend your weekends outdoors with your children where they can get the sunshine and physical activity that their bodies need. Here is a list of excellent places the entire family will enjoy:
Fantasy Land Park, Riyadh
This is a large park with plenty of activities for each member of your family. There are vast grassy areas where you can set out a picnic. Or if you do not want to bring your own food there are several restaurants to order lunch from. Your children can ride on a pony or horse or they can rent a bicycle. You can even rent a bicycle with two seats if you want to get some exercise too. There is also an outdoor amusement park with different rides. You and your children will love their dolphin and seal show put on almost every evening!
Salam Park, Riyadh
This clean and beautiful park is so big that you will get plenty of exercise just walking through it all. Take skates, a bicycle, skateboard, scooter, a ball, frizbee, or jump rope for the kids. You can join in on the fun and get in touch with the child inside you! Salam Park is located in the City Center, near the Battha shops in Riyadh.
Nemo Garden Restaurant & Café, Jeddah
The restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious foods, pastries, and appetizers from the Lebanese cuisine. You can sit outside and enjoy your meal while your children play in the playground right next to you. They also have a large swimming pool with slides in the water. The pool is quite shallow so even little children can play in it. For older children, there is a billiards table.
Sails Island Restaurant, Jeddah
What is more relaxing than the sight of the sparkling water of the sea and the sound of its waves washing over the shore? This restaurant overlooks the Red Sea in Jeddah and you can be seated at a table so close to the water that if the waves are strong enough you could get splashed! Your kids will not whine that they are bored because they will be too busy playing in one of the three big swimming pools with slides, sea-saws, and sprinklers in the water. There are changing rooms and showers so you can clean your kids up and change them into dry clothes before going home. There is an entrance ticket of around 40 Saudi riyals per person, but you can use these tickets inside to pay for your meal.
Tahlia Street Park, Jeddah
We went to this park that is at the end of Tahlia Street (near the Water Desalination Plant) and everyone had a great time. The younger children had plenty of fun on the swings, slides, trampoline, and jumping castle. My older son made friends with other boys and played soccer with them. There were also three wheeled motorcycles you can rent and he was thrilled to ride one for the first time.
