A Saudi man responsible for child rape and murder in Hail was beheaded and his body publicly displayed in the town on Monday, the Ministry of Interior announced on the day of the execution. 22-year-old Mohammed Bin Basheer Bin Saoud Al-Shamari was due to be executed early last month for the kidnapping of five boys, the rape of four, and the murder of one three-year-old, but the sentence was postponed at the final hour for reasons unannounced. According to Monday's ministry statement to the SPA news agency, Al-Shamari kidnapped his victims from in front of their homes and took them to various locations where he raped them and left them naked at the scenes of his crimes. It said he killed his three-year-old victim during the act before abandoning the body in the desert. The statement added that the police arrested Al-Shamari while targeting a sixth victim. The Court of Cassation and the High Court upheld the General Court's sentence and a royal order was given for the sentence to be carried out.
