King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has been honored with King Khalid Award for National Accomplishment for his achievements in the field of higher education. This was announced by Prince Faisal Bin Khaled Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of Asir Region, at a press conference here Sunday. “The King has accepted the award,” the Emir of Asir – who is also chairman of the award's board – said. He said that the awards will be handed over to the recipients at a ceremony later this month. The ceremony will be patronized by Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. Dr. Ibrahim Bin Muhammad Al-Obaidi has been awarded the King Khalid Award for Social Sciences. The award for Social Projects will be shared by Prince Salman Charitable Housing Project and Ali Kano Center for Renal Diseases. The recipient of the fourth ward for Responsible Competitiveness will be announced at the International Competitiveness Forum in January.
