Some evacuees here have complained that they are waiting for more than a month for financial compensation from the government after leaving their homes because of the conflict on the Saudi-Yemeni border. Parents are expected to receive SR2,000 each a week and each child SR200 a week. The amounts have to be paid out by the Ministry of Finance with the cooperation of officials from the Ahad Al-Masareha province. These amounts are to be paid out under an order from King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. Many evacuees said that they have followed all the necessary procedures and registered with the Civil Defense in the province, but have yet to receive the money. Many have queued for hours at the provincial building. Ali Hazazy left his home in Al-Mazabarat village at the beginning of the confrontation between Saudi forces and the infiltrators. He said he had registered his family over a month-and-a-half ago but has not received one riyal yet. “I think the process of distributing the money must be more organized. We need the cash because many of us don't have a source of income, at least for the time being,” he said. “When I went to the province, I was surprised at the long queues of people. Many were elderly people. I left without getting anything,” he said. It has been particularly hard for widows and divorced women. They have demanded that the authorities open up a section to deal with women only. At the moment they have to wait on the road near the payout point. “I was waiting here from the early hours of the morning and was not told who is responsible for distributing money to women,” said Ayesh Saleh, a 54-year-old widow and mother of five. Saleh said that she tried many times to get into the provincial building where the payouts are handed over, but was told she could not enter because there is no separate section for the women. While some evacuees are still waiting, others have been getting money. “I have just received the weekly amount from the province of Ahad Al-Masareha for the fifth week,” said Ali Faqeh, an evacuee from Al
