Marc Savard celebrated his new seven-year contract extension by scoring his 200th NHL goal, and Marco Sturm scored twice in 2:33 to lead the Boston Bruins to a 4-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL Wednesday. Tim Thomas stopped 39 shots to give the Bruins their sixth victory in seven games. He made his second straight start since missing six games with an undisclosed injury. Mark Recchi had three assists, and Zdeno Chara and Patrice Bergeron had two each to help Boston move back into first place in the Northeast Division. Savard has five goals and six assists in his last 11 games. Canucks 5, Devils 2: At Newark, New Jersey, Henrik and Daniel Sedin had a hand in three first-period goals, and Roberto Luongo made 27 saves as Vancouver beat New Jersey. Alex Burrows, Sami Salo, Daniel Sedin, Alexander Elder and Jannik Hansen had goals for the Canucks, who won for the fifth time in seven games. Luongo topped New Jersey's Martin Brodeur in a matchup of likely Canadian goalies when the Olympic Games are held in Vancouver in February. Niclas Bergfors and Travis Zajac scored for the Devils. Panthers 6, Avalanche 5, SO: At Sunrise, Florida, Stephen Weiss recorded his second NHL hat trick and scored in the shootout to lift Florida over Colorado. Nathan Horton and Dominic Moore also had goals for the Panthers, who snapped a five-game losing streak. T.J. Galiardi and Matt Duchene both scored for Colorado with less then a minute left in regulation to send the game to overtime. Chris Stewart and Paul Stastny also had goals for Colorado. Duchene netted another goal in the second period. Wild 5, Predators 4, OT: At St. Paul, Minnesota, Andrew Ebbett's rebound shot in overtime lifted Minnesota over Nashville.
