Despite the cold weather families have flocked to make use of the cable cars in this city during the Eid holidays. The cable cars cross the upper and lower stations via the mountain ranges, from the peaks of Ghazwan Mountains, the highest peak in Al-Hada, to the lower slopes and the Al-Kur recreation village. The lower stations have services and recreation facilities including traditional food restaurants, a five-star hotel and the biggest water games city in the region. It also has an open theater and several support facilities. Families went to over 40 recreation projects in different parts of the Taif Governorate during the holidays. Investors in the tourism services sector said more people visited the projects because of the massive development that has taken place recently. This includes the building of markets, malls, amusement parks, tourist villages and resorts. The Taif Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) confirmed the participation of the private sector in developing recreation facilities and said there was continuous growth in this sector. New investments are scheduled for next year. This will be supported by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA). The TCCI said there is constant support from Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Chairman of the SCTA, for the private sector as a partner in all its plans and programs.
