A Yemeni man stabbed a fellow countryman nine times during an altercation Monday in downtown Jeddah. Passersby found the victim in a pool of blood in one of the streets downtown. They called the police, who moved the injured man to the nearest hospital. The victim was bleeding profusely from his injuries and initially could not give the police his testimony. Eyewitnesses said the perpetrator fled the scene of the crime immediately after his opponent fell to the ground. Later, when his condition had improved, the injured man told the police the culprit was an undocumented Yemeni immigrant. A security team combed the entire district and found the perpetrator hiding in a house of Yemeni bachelors near the crime scene. Colonel Misfr Al-Juaid, Spokesman for the Jeddah Police, said the perpetrator confessed that he had stabbed his fellow countryman with a sharp instrument.
