James Vandermeer scored his second goal of the game 1:18 into overtime to give the Phoenix Coyotes a 3-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks Sunday. Vandermeer's game-winner appeared to deflect off Ducks defenseman Nick Boynton and trickle past netminder Jean-Sebastien Giguere on the Coyotes' only shot in overtime as the visitors earned their 31st point of the season. “(Robert Lang) made a great pass and (with) a good bounce I guess, it went in the goal,” Vandermeer told reporters. The Coyotes pulled level with the Dallas Stars in the Pacific standings and within a point of Los Angeles in second. San Jose leads the division. Ryan Getzlaf's power-play goal in the second period gave the Ducks a 1-0 lead before Vandermeer scored his first of the game 5:28 into the third, also off an assist by Langer. Matthew Lombardi gave Phoenix a 2-1 lead midway through the period but Bobby Ryan redirected a shot by Boynton past former Duck netminder Ilya Bryzgalov with less than two minutes left to force overtime. “We got ahead and stopped skating in the third,” Ryan said. “They dominated the third period. Jiggy (Giguere) made a lot of saves early that you think would depress them at some point and get under their skin, but it didn't. They just kept hanging around.” Anaheim, which was looking for its fourth win in a row, remains mired at the bottom of the Pacific standings. “We found a way to get a point at the end in the last two minutes, so we should be happy about that,” Giguere said. “The game didn't go exactly the way we wanted. We know what we did wrong and what we did well.” Bryzgalov made 26 saves for Phoenix with Giguere getting 23 for Anaheim. Sharks 4, Canucks 2: At Vancouver, British Columbia, Dan Boyle scored the go-ahead goal on a power play 6:15 into the second period, and Evgeni Nabokov made 28 saves to lead San Jose over Vancouver. Manny Malhotra scored on a breakaway with 2:35 left and Jamie McGinn made it 4-1 on a scramble in front 13 seconds later for San Jose. Frazer McLaren also scored his first NHL goal for the Sharks, who have won four of their last five games and lead the league with 40 points. Kyle Wellwood scored two minutes in and set up Jannik Hansen's meaningless goal with 6.3 seconds left in the game, and Roberto Luongo made 26 saves as the Canucks, playing for a second straight night, lost for just the second time in six games.
