Kopitar, Johnson lift Kings over Blackhawks

Anze Kopitar and Jack Johnson scored in the first two rounds of a shootout as the Los Angeles Kings edged the Chicago Blackhawks 2-1 in the NHL Saturday.
Jonathan Quick stopped both Chicago attempts as the Blackhawks saw their lead in the Central Division sliced to four points. Quick finished with 32 saves, and Wayne Simmonds scored early in the second period.
Jonathan Towes had a third-period goal for Chicago.
Penguins 8, Rangers 3: In Pittsburgh, Sidney Crosby had his fourth career hat trick and added two assists for his second five-point game as Pittsburgh trounced New York.
Crosby scored once in the first and twice in the third period and added two-first period assists.
Evgeni Malkin, Max Talbot, Mark Eaton, Pascal Dupuis and Tyler Kennedy also scored for Pittsburgh, which remained tied with Washington atop the Eastern Conference standings.
Defensemen Marc Staal, Matt Gilroy and Michal Rozsival scored for New York.
Flames 4, Blue Jackets 3, SO: In Columbus, Ohio, backup goaltender Curtis McElhinney stopped Anton Stralman in the fourth round of the shootout to give Calgary a narrow win over Columbus.
Jamie Lundmark followed with the shootout winner for the Flames.
With the Blue Jackets in control late in the third period with a 3-1 lead, Calgary's Dustin Boyd and Nigel Dawes scored in a 1:19 span to send the game to overtime.
Olli Jokinen had a goal and assist for Calgary, while Rick Nash, Marc Methot and Jared Boll scored for Columbus, which has lost five in a row.
Devils 6, Islanders 1: In Newark, New Jersey, Brian Rolston and Patrik Elias each had two goals and two assists as New Jersey thrashed New York to win its sixth straight at home.
Capitals 4, Canadiens 3, SO: In Montreal, Nicklas Backstrom scored the only shootout goal on Washington's third attempt, defeating Montreal.
Bruins 4, Senators 3, SO: In Boston, the hosts prevailed in a shootout over Ottawa, making it five wins from six.
Stars 4, Lightning 3, OT: In Dallas, the home team recovered from blowing a two-goal lead, beating Tampa Bay in overtime.
Thrashers 1, Flyers 0: In Atlanta, the hosts snapped a 14-game losing streak to Philadelphia.
Predators 4, Panthers 1: In Nashville, Tennessee, J.P. Dumont and David Legwand scored early in the third period to lift Nashville over Florida.
Wild 3, Avalanche 2, SO: In Denver, Mikko Koivu and Andrew Ebbett scored in the shootout as Minnesota prevailed against Colorado.
Red Wings 4, Blues 3, SO: In St. Louis, Detroit's three-game losing streak and goal drought ended with a shootout win over St. Louis.
Canucks 7, Oilers 3: In Vancouver, British Columbia, Christian Ehrhoff, Alex Burrows, Mason Raymond and Daniel Sedin scored in the first 8:25 to set up Vancouver's win over Edmonton.
Sabres 5, Hurricanes 1: In Buffalo, New York, Buffalo scored five goals in the third period to keep Carolina winless on the road.
