Undercover cops, particularly women officers, have reduced the rate of crime during this year's Haj. This is according to Maj. Gen. Khidhir Bin Ayidh Al-Zahrani, Assistant Commander of Haj Security Forces for Security Affairs. He said the Investigation Administration had their women undercover police officers enter locations that were difficult to penetrate by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) personnel. He confirmed that women officers have proved to be effective in reducing the crime rate among women. He said the investigation teams work secretly and are disguised as pilgrims, wearing Ihram or the clothes of service workers. They often arrest criminals red-handed. Al-Zahrani said the Haj Security Command has taken new measures to prevent crime before its occurrence during the Haj season. This includes a greater presence of their security staff and more patrols.
