Any Jeddah resident affected by the floods over the past week can lay complaints with the courts, the Board of Grievances, and Control and Investigation Commission, said Sheikh Saleh Bin Humaid, Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Saturday. Bin Humaid emphasized that the courtrooms are open for any citizen who wants to file a lawsuit. Meanwhile, he also pointed out that Haj cases seen at government circuit courts have dropped significantly compared to previous years. “This is thanks to the security and organizational efforts made by the state in the interest of the pilgrims.” He announced that a bylaw has been introduced to organize the affairs of judges working during Haj and Umrah. This will be enforced in the upcoming season. “A study is being conducted to compile precedents on the Shariah judgments covering commercial transactions. This includes matrimonial and family cases which are categorized under family violence.” Apart from this, regulations for newly appointed judges will be reviewed at the next session of the Supreme Judicial Council, he added.
