Insurance companies have been urged to charge reasonable prices for all land vehicles and to abide by the regulations of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA). This was the call made recently by the Land Transport Committee at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI). Sa'eed Bin Ali Al-Bassami, Deputy Chairman of the committee, said they had held several meetings with officials from insurance companies to discuss this matter. During the meetings, they discussed the need for unified prices for insurance on all types of cars. Al-Bassami said it was necessary for insurance companies to charge reasonable prices and have clear contracts, in accordance with the SAMA statutes on the insurance sector.
