The olive industry in this region has been given a boost with the assembly of six olive presses. Dr. Nawaf Bin Dhuwaiban Al-Rashed, Director General of the Saudi Credit and Savings Bank in the Al-Jouf Region, said his bank brought teams from Italy and Egypt to supervise the assembly of the six olive oil presses. The teams will also be in charge of maintenance of the presses until the end of the season. The teams are training workers to operate these machines. The olive presses have been set up on farms in the area. Dr. Faris Bin Hamad Al-Nussairi, one of the farmers who will benefit from the presses, said this was welcome support for farmers by the bank. He said the bank has provided a number of farmers with loans to help them install these presses. He lauded the continuous support and encouragement from the region's Emir, particularly for oil products and derivatives. An Italian company has been invited to sponsor the 4th Olive Festival in the region. The head of the Italian team said they will use the presses to extract olive oil throughout the days of the festival. He said this confirms the success of the festival at an international level. He also lauded the support they get from the region's Emir.
