Latest medical trends and practices related to women's health were presented at the recently-concluded Women Health Update Conference held at the Prince Salman Social Center, under the theme “You are our center of attention”. The 2-day program included workshops, screening for blood pressure, diabetes and breast examination technique. The conference discussed specifically women's health after age of 50, to include good diet and nutrition, osteoporosis, cardiac diseases in women, vaccination for cervical cancer, laser uses for cosmetic purposes, and how to protect yourself from depression. The event was organized by Health Education Services Department in King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center. The conference gathered more than 1,000 ladies attendees and visitors at the Prince Salman Social Center. Dr. Mona Sanan, consultant in Al Rabie Saudi Foods Co. Ltd., a pioneering producer of dairy products and juices in Saudi Arabia and the largest juice manufacturer in the Middle East, was the only speaker invited from the private sector, reflecting the healthcare sector's trust and respect for Al Rabie and its strict quality control practices. In her presentation, Dr. Mona discussed the antioxidants topic and their role in promoting good health, proper diet, health benefits of breastfeeding, dangers of obesity, and the importance of exercise. Great emphasis was put on women's health matters, health professionals were urged to to promote women wellness & health. Good health can only be achieved through a combination of proper eating habits, following an active, healthy lifestyle and learning how to avoid and cope with stress, the Al Rabie consultant added.
