Layla Al-Kabi left the village of Al-Khubah one day at dawn dragging her seven children and heading for the nearest safe zone prior to be moved to the evacuee camp. Layla recalled the time when infiltrators were always present and allowed to shop and do some business in the area peacefully. “People of Yemeni villages used to shops at Al-Khubah weekly market,” she said. “How can a person harm the hand that fed him for some time. I never expected the betrayal.” She said she was confident Saudi soldiers would “throw out the gangs” that violated the borders. Muhammad Ali Al-Hazzazi lived in Jabal Al-Qarn and knew the people of Yemen's Al-Malaheedh and other villages for years. Al-Hazzazi had seen them carrying their goods and selling them in border villages markets, he said. “I've seen them making a living through the people of this country but killing was their response to our hospitality,” he said. Al-Hazzazi and his three sisters were evacuated directly after Saudi forces entered Jabal Al-Qarn and the sounds of artillery and machine guns dominated.
