Saudi players out The Saudi football fans were disappointed to see the names of two of their players excluded from the latest list of nominees for the AFC's best player of 2009. Al-Ittihad skipper Mohammed Noor and Nasser Al-Shamrani were on the list of 15 players selected for the award. The fresh list of five nominees include: Sayed Mohamed Adnan of Bahrain, Firas Al-Khateeb of Syria, Kengo Nakamura and Yasuhito Endo of Japan and Hadi Aghily of Iran. However, Saudi Arabia is selected among three countries listed for the AFC fair play award. The other two countries are South Korea and Japan. For the club of the year award, AFC has selected Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia, Pohang Steelers of Korea and Kuwait of Kuwait. The Uzbek Ravshan Irmatov, the Japanese Yuichi Nishimura and the Australian Matthew Breeze were listed for the best referee of the year.
