member Board of Directors at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) has finally been completed after the Minster of Trade and Industry announced his appointees to the six remaining places following last month's elections. The four men and two women were named as Saleh Abdullah Kamil, Majed Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Mousa Amran Al-Amran, Mohammed Bin Ladin, Fatin Bandaqji, and Aisha Natu. The first meeting of the new board will be held on Dec. 7 to elect its chairman and two vice chairmen as well as the JCCI representative at the Saudi Chamber Board. The position for chairman will reportedly go to Saleh Abdullah Kamil by recommendation and awaits his acceptance, while the contest for vice chairmen remains closely contested, with the most prominent candidates cited as Abdullah Mar'i Bin Mahfoudh, Mazen Mohammed Batraji, Ziyad Al-Bassam, Abdullah Sadiq Dahlan, Salim Al-Harbi and Lama Al-Soleiman. Salim Al-Harbi, it may be noted, gained the largest number of votes of any candidate at the recent elections. The chairman of the Board is also permitted to delegate certain responsibilities to a selected member of the board in order to relieve his two vice chairmen of various defined duties. The two women among the trade minister's six appointees means that the 18-strong board has only three places occupied by females, one down from the previous term's four. Fatin Bandaqji and Aisha Natu are new to the board, while Lama Al-Soleiman was the only woman to win in the recent elections, keeping her seat from the previous board.
