acclaimed food safety course under the auspices of the Royal Commission for Jubail is underway at the city's Industrial City. The two-week Environmental Health course is aimed at giving participants practical experience in the implementation of the specialized system known as the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP). They will visit various facilities, including industrial cafeterias and mess halls at labor camps. The course is being held at the Environmental Health Training Center. The Environmental Health Section of the Property Department in the Royal Commission Jubail can boast of “phenomenal success”. It has already received worldwide recognition for its implementation of the Environmental Health Program within the City. Participants in the course include representatives from the Environmental Health Section of the Property Department in the Royal Commission and a number of government entities from all over the Kingdom. The program is the second of its kind to be organized for people outside Jubail Industrial City and was established following the approval of Prince Saud Bin Abdullah Bin Thanyyan Al-Saud, Chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu. The training program helps to expand the competence of the Environmental Health Section by giving food inspectors and controllers from the Kingdom's different city municipalities and students at health institutes an opportunity to be familiarized with the Environmental Health Section activities. The Royal Commission has taken a leading position in the fields of food safety and hygiene and it was the first body in the Middle East to be recognized by the International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH). The Royal Commission has implemented strict environmental health regulations at Jubail Industrial City with regard to preserving, processing and transporting food. This has helped the Royal Commission to achieve 23 years without a single recorded food poisoning case at any of its establishments.
