Twelve Yemenis entering the Kingdom illegally were rescued by authorities in a desert area of Truba on Thursday after being abandoned by the driver to whom they had paid 1,000 riyals each for transport to Jeddah to seek work. According to Al-Madina newspaper on Friday, police were notified of their presence by a local citizen, and investigations revealed that the driver told his passengers to descend for prayer while passing through the desert of Turba, but drove off and abandoned them to their fate.
