If the Muslim arrives in Makkah before the months of Haj with intention of performing Haj, then he performs Umrah and remains (in Makkah) until Haj time and performs Haj, is his Haj considered a Tamattu' or an Ifrad? A – His Haj is considered an Ifrad because At-Tamattu' is when a person assumes Ihram for Umrah during the months of Haj, completes it, then assumes Ihram for Haj the same year. However, if he combines them by assuming Ihram for both Haj and Umrah together, then he is a Qarin (i.e., he stays in Ihram until slaughtering his animal on the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah). At-Tamattu' is specifically for whoever assumes Ihram for Umrah during the months of Haj, because when the months of Haj begin, the Ihram for Haj during that time is more specific to Haj than the Ihram for Umrah. Thus, Allah eased the matter for his servants and allowed them – rather, he preferred for them – to make their Ihram for Umrah so that they could combine it with the Haj. Thus, they could do what was forbidden for them in Ihram (i.e., by removing the Ihram after performing the Umrah). – Sheikh Muhammad Bin Saleh Al-Uthaymeen; Fatawa Islamiyah, vol. 4, pg. no. 96 Falling of hair Q- What should the woman in Ihram do if some hair fall out of her head against her will (unintentionally)? A – If hair falls out of the pilgrim in Ihram – whether male or female – when he wipes his head during Wudhu or when he washes it, it's not a problem. Likewise, if hair falls out of the beard of a man or his mustache or something of his nails falls off, it does not harm his Ihram if he did not do that intentionally. The only thing that is prohibited is that the pilgrim intentionally cuts some of his hair or nails while he is in Ihram. – Permanent Committee for Islamic Research and Verdicts; Fatwa Islamiyah, vol. 4, pg. no. 138 __
