Animal welfare
The article “Mission ‘animal welfare' catches steam in Kingdom” (Nov. 10) was really a good read. This issue is ignored at large in Saudi Arabia. Inarguably there is tremendous need for awareness in the Kingdom. It is sad to see that cats killed by speeding cars are left on the streets to rot. Little is done for them. Pet shops are not providing the adequate care required for animals. They are mostly treated as a commodity than a living creature. Also, there is a lack of variety in pet food available here. I can hardly find good food for my pet.
