Mobily launched on Saturday iPhone 3GS in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a range of 3G tariff plans tailored for iPhone customers. The iPhone 3GS is the fastest, most powerful iPhone yet, packed with incredible new features including improved speed and performance - up to twice as fast as iPhone 3G - with longer battery life, a high-quality 3 megapixel auto focus camera, easy to use video recording and hands free voice control. iPhone 3GS includes iPhone OS 3.1, the world's most advanced mobile operating system with features such as Cut, Copy and Paste, MMS, Spotlight Search, landscape keyboard and more. “We are thrilled to bring iPhone to our customers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”, said Khalid Al-Kaf, Mobily's managing director and CEO. “We strive to offer high-value products and services, and our special postpaid and prepaid iPhone plans are tailored to our customer's needs.” Last month, Mobily reported that it has posted a higher-than-expected rise in net profit on more post-paid voice and broadband customers, pushing its shares up by almost 6 percent. With voice services penetration well above 100 percent, the firm will focus on selling more data services to both corporate customers and households to maintain high profit growth. Mobily made a record SR807 million ($215.2 million) in the three months to Sept. 30, against SR539 million a year earlier, beating the most optimistic forecasts by about 10 percent. The firm also expanded the coverage of the third-generation network to new cities which “helped greatly to add new broadband and data subscribers”. “We are seeing growth across all lines,” David Murphy, Mobily's chief marketing officer, said.
