Police here arrested a man last week for allegedly shooting and killing by accident an eight-year-old Indian girl in Rawda District. Three weeks ago, Vanshika Trivedi, an Indian girl, was hit in the head by a stray bullet that was supposedly fired as a warning shot at the scene of a street fight between two groups of people. She was a second grade student at the International Indian School, Riyadh. She was buried in India. The man who allegedly fired the shot was apprehended last week by the police at the scene of another street fight in Riyadh, according to a police statement. Police also recovered the pistol that was used in the offence. The perpetrator allegedly fired a warning shot which struck Trivedi as she was standing in the sitting room of her apartment. She died on Oct. 20 after three days in the intensive care unit of King Abdulaziz Medical City, National Guard Hospital. Police have registered a case against the apprehended man and investigations are ongoing.
