Prince Sultan Bin Salman, President of General Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, said that Saudi Arabia is witnessing an exceptional era and passing through great strides in local and international arenas. He stressed that the proper development and performance of government bodies is very important. Addressing the International Conference of Administrative Development entitled “Administrative Development, Building Local Capabilities” organized by the Institute of Public Administration in Riyadh Wednesday, the prince said that the Kingdom has great historical opportunities in its march toward more comprehensive development in all fields of life. He said that it necessitates the acceleration of the overall development of the state's bodies and administrative procedures. For this purpose, what is needed is taking decisive action to eliminate centralization in addition to developing the capabilities of the regions of the Kingdom to manage their local affairs, the prince said. The Institute of Public Administration on Nov. 1 launched a five-day celebration of its 50th anniversary patronized by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. Apart from the conference, the anniversary celebrations also include a book fair related to administrative science.
