14,000-bundle of qat haul

Authorities in Jizan seized over 14,000 bundles of qat in three separate attempts to smuggle the banned leaf into the Kingdom Friday. In Al-Darb, a Saudi truck driver was detained after he was found to be transporting some four tons of qat in his vehicle, while a Yemeni was arrested in Al-Hureidha after the discovery of 5,000 bundles hidden in his van.Two other persons were charged at an undisclosed location after being found in possession of several hundred bundles intended for sale in the Kingdom.
