Police detained on Monday two security men following their colleague's alleged theft of SR1.6 million Sunday from the armored vehicle they were employed to protect. The two men, including the driver, reported the incident to the police saying that they got out of the vehicle for a quick trip to a shopping mall, but upon their return, they found both their colleague and the money missing. According to the security company's regulations, the driver was not permitted to leave the vehicle, used in the replenishment of cash of ATM machines in the Faisaliyah District, under any circumstances, police said. The two have not been charged with the theft. The absconding security guard was said to have stolen SR1.6 million, leaving behind another SR1.8 million in a bag inside the vehicle.
