Medical experts have gathered here for a three-day conference to discuss the latest research on much-needed emergency medical care in the Kingdom. The conference was opened Monday by Prince Khaled Bin Faisal Bin Turkey Al-Saud, deputy commander of the National Guard for the Western Province. A total of 23 research papers on emergency medicine and paramedics will be presented. “The National Guard Health Affairs's Western Province, organized this conference to reflect the importance of knowledge and learning in general and health, in particular, because it is the main source for building the health of humanity in the world,” said Prince Khaled. Dr Ahmed Al-Rabeghy, chairman of the scientific committee, said that emergency medical care doctors are crucial because they had the first contact with patients. Bandar Al-Qanawi, executive manager for the National Guard's Health Affairs, and manager of King Saud Bin Abdualaziz University for the Medical Sciences, said: “Now, since the Haj season is round the corner, we have to provide all possible help to those who are going to work in the medical field and give good medical services for the pilgrims at the holy sites.”
