year-old Muhanned, the Sudanese boy who was swept away by floods in Makkah Thursday, was found late Friday, nine kilometers from where he was last seen, Civil Defense officials have said. Muhanned was reportedly playing in a park close to the edge of the 45-km rainwater channel when he dropped his mobile telephone and fell into the water attempting to retrieve it. Muhanned's death, sources have said, is expected to accelerate previous plans to fill in the channel which stretches from the holy sites to the west of the city, passing through four residential districts.
