Delhi Daredevils ended the four-match unbeaten run of Chennai Super Kings with a convincing four-wicket victory at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk here Friday. The dashing opening pair of skipper Virender Sehwag and in-form Gautam Gambhir blew away the Chennai Super Kings with a whirlwind opening partnership of 115 runs in just 12.1 overs. When Delhi lost Sehwag the daredevil opener had made 71 runs from 41 balls with seven fours and four sixes. He won the Man of the Match award. Gambhir made fifty and Delhi coasted home (172-2) in 19 overs. In the absence of Australian run-machines Matthew Hayden and Michael Hussey Chennai Super Kings struggled to maintain their form after choosing to bat. On the strength of S.Vidyut's 54, skipper M.S. Dhoni's 32 and J.Morkel's 28 Delhi managed 169-6. Though Delhi missed New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori, as usual, veteran McGrath kept the Chennai batsmen under control with figures of 4-0-21-1. Mohammed Asif of Pakistan conceded 34 runs in grabbing a wicket. Mahesh, skipper Sehwag and Bhatia were the other wicket-takers. Scores: Delhi Daredevils 172 for 2 (Sehwag 71, Gambhir 50).
