Jeddah motor show ends on positive note as Ford lineup enthralls visitors
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 30 - 10 - 2009

Visitors to the Ford stand at the five-day Saudi International Motor Show in Jeddah which ended on Thursday have had the opportunity to witness the latest product offerings from Ford and Lincoln for 2010, together with some exciting action brought to the Kingdom by Ford and Al-Jazirah Vehicles Agencies Co, the local Ford and Lincoln importer-dealer.
They have seen the company's transformation through the impressive line-up of new and dramatically refreshed products.
2010 represents an important milestone for Ford in the Middle East, as the company showcased a host of new products for the region.
The all-new 2010 Ford Taurus full-size sedan has seen great response from the Saudi crowd since its debut on the first day of the show.
Joining the Taurus on the stand is the mighty off-roader truck, the 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, and a Raptor simulator that provided show-goers with a taste of this vehicle's thrilling off-road drive.
For consumers with a taste for luxury, they were amazed by the all-new full size 3-row luxury crossover, the Lincoln MKT.
The Ford display also showcased Ford's new high-performance, fuel-saving EcoBoost engine technology, delivering V8 performance with the consumption of a V6.
Fans of customization saw for themselves, live on the Ford stand, how a Ford Mustang was upfitted and personalized.
“Ford has so many stories to tell the visitors of this year's Jeddah Motorshow,” said Hussein Murad, Ford Middle East's director of Sales. “These are exciting times for the company as our transformation plan materializes into these great new products and innovations that our customers want. Any visitor to the Ford stand will be able to judge how far we have come in delivering one of the strongest product lineups ever in our history. And this year's motorshow is our stage to communicate just that. Ford is delivering, here, and now.”
“Since the kick off of the One Ford plan three years ago, Ford has been working actively towards achieving results. Today, the outcome of these efforts is evident already across our lineup, and most importantly across the industry. Numerous patents for technologies have been in an all-time high for Ford and that shows how serious we are in delivering more driver-focused features that our customers and dealers ever dreamed possible. And all of these will be seen at this year's motor show,” Murad added.
Sabah Bin Abdullah Al-Kraidees, Sales and Marketing director of Al Jazirah Vehicles Agencies Co, the Ford and Lincoln importer-dealer in the Kingdom, said: “The Ford brand is indeed evolving and this is apparent in the great new products that we have across our showrooms today. And our Saudi customers certainly have seen this positive turn in the past couple of years as we started bringing them these outstanding products.”
“But our work at Al-Jazirah doesn't stop at offering world-class vehicles alone. We have been busy on an equally important portion of the business, and that's delivering some of the best ownership experiences of a Ford or Lincoln vehicle in the Kingdom, through ambitious network expansions, extensive training and development programmes as well as efforts in bringing genuine Ford parts closer to our customers,” he added.
