A Saudi student in the US has won an award for best foreign student. Saleh Hamid Al-Harthi, who studies at Montana University, is the first Saudi student to win such an award in the history of the university, after having been nominated by members of the teaching staff and the local population in Montana. “The selection for the prize is on the basis of several criteria,” said Harthi.“As I have been President of the Saudi Students' Club and the Muslim Students' Organization in the US for more than two years, and had scored a grade point average of 3.95 out of 4. I was nominated and awarded the prize by the rector of the university and the deans of colleges.” “There are numerous efforts being exerted within and outside the university to acquaint people with Islamic culture, and correct the mistaken image of Saudis and Muslims through organizing acquaintance meetings, showing films on Islamic culture and organizing festivals to acquaint people with the Kingdom. I present this prize to my father, mother and dear nation.” – Okaz __
